Composition : |
MEDICLAV 600 mg contains Amoxicillin Sodium equivalent to 500 mg Amoxicillin with Potassium Clavulanate equivalent to 100 mg Clavulanic acid.
MEDICLAV 1.2 g contains Amoxicillin Sodium equivalent to 1g Amoxicillin with Potassium Clavulanate equivalent to 200 mg Clavulanic acid. |
Indications : |
For the treatment of infections caused by amoxicillin resistant organisms producing ß-lactamases sensitive to Clavulanic acid:
- Upper & lower respiratory tract
- Urinary tract infections
- Caused by Amoxicillin sensitive organisms

Contraindications : |
In patients with allergy to penicillins and cephalosporins. Mediclav is contra-indicated in patients with a previous history of Mediclav-associated jaundice/hepatic dysfunction.

Adverse Effects : |
Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, skin rashes, urticaria, and erythema multiforme, vaginitis, abnormal taste, headache, dizziness, tiredness and hot flushes. |
Dosage : |
- Adult: 1.2 g every 6–8 h depending on the severity of the infection.
- Infants <3 months, 30 mg/kg every 12 h.
- Children 3 months to 12 years, 20–45 mg/kg every 8–12 h depending on the severity of the infection.
