Composition : |
Each 1.5 g vial contains: Ceftriaxone Sodium equivalent to 1 g Ceftriaxone with Sulbactam Sodium equivalent to 500 mg Sulbactam. |
Indications : |
Treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, cholecystitis, osteomyelitis, chronic suppurative bacterial otitis media, gonorrhoea, chancroid, syphilis, UTI infections meningitis, nosocomial infection caused by susceptible bacteria. |
Contraindications : |
In patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporin antibiotics. In patients hypersensitive to penicillin, consider the possibility of allergic cross-reactions.
The use of Sulbactam is contraindicated in individuals with a history of hypersensitivity reactions to any of the penicillin. |
Adverse Effects : |
- Gastro-intestinal complaints: Loose stools/diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomatitis, glossitis.
- Hematological changes: Eosinophilia, haematoma or bleeding, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, leukopenia, granulocytopenia and haemolyticanaemia.
- Exanthema, allergic dermatitis, pruritus, urticaria, oedema, erythema multiforme may occur.
- Other side effects include headaches and dizziness, increase in liver enzymes, oliguria, and an increase in serum creatinine, mycosis of the genital tract, fever, shivering and anaphylactic or anaphylactic reactions.

Dosage : |
- Adult: 1.5 g to 3 g every six hours. The total dose of Sulbactam should not exceed 1 gram per day.
- Neonates (up to 14 days): 20 to 50 mg/kg bodyweight once daily. The daily dose should not exceed 50 mg/kg.
- Infants and children (15 days to 12 years): 20 to 80 mg/kg once daily.
- For children with bodyweights of 50 kg or more, the usual adult dosage should be used. Intravenous doses of NLT 50 mg/kg bodyweight should be given by infusion over at least 30 minutes.
